Wow, 13 weeks down and boy have they flown by. It really feels like the guys just deployed to be honest. I guess it’s a good thing when they deploy during one of the busies times of my life! So week 13 was of course busy. I don’t think there is a such thing as not being busy for me. Spent some horsey time with my girl. Got her all worked over by Miss Darci. Nice thing is, she has been worked on so much lately that there wasn’t much to do. Now that we have finally found a saddle that fits and she is in better shape, she is feeling good. Which hopefully will be in our favor this weekend at the barrel race. We already have some points and need to get our butts going and get more! Would be nice to take home a saddle this year!
I also worked on wedding stuff as usual. It’s never ending, that’s for sure. Did some shopping with my mama and grandmother at Old Time Pottery. If you have never been there, it’s pretty freakin amazing! Picked up stuff for our centerpieces, jars for the jam jar favors, and even some random goodies for my hizzy! If only I was rich, I could have spent hours in there buying up things! But we got what we needed and then headed out for a late lunch with the family.
I also went to my best friends house for an Easter party. As usual, I prepared some dishes for the party. Becca Stuart always brings her tasty viddles to the partayyyyy!!! For the party I made a delicious broccoli salad with bacon, sunflower seeds, onion, honey and some other fun ingredients. I also made some bacon & jalapeno deviled eggs and an Easter cake. The deviled eggs were a huge hit! I had never made them before, but I had seen some online and thought I would try and make them. Of course I added my own secret things to it and didn’t follow the recipe. I hate following recipes most times. I like to make things my own so I can take “some” of the credit, lol. But all in all, it was all a big hit and not a drop was left of anything I made.
Now it’s on to week 14. 14 is my favorite number, so hopefully this will be a great week. Fingers crossed!
