So 2013 is coming to an end and all I can think about is how amazing this year has been to me and my little family. Goals were met, friends were made (and lost), memories were made, and so much more. But honestly, none of that is really on my mind. 2014 is going to be a big year for me as my husband is deploying in January and the company I work for is also selling. But I look at them all in a positive way. Of course I am not happy that my husband is deploying, but this will give us an opportunity to save money for some remodeling in our home and it will also remind us of how much we appreciate each other when we are together after being apart for months.
I plan on taking full advantage of my company selling and will hopefully be given more opportunities to advance in my career. The owners of our company now are planning on sharing the profit with us as well, so that will be a nice bonus as I will finally be able to purchase something nice for myself like a horse trailer. So that alone has me uber stoked! But from what I have seen thus far, the new company has a lot to offer and I am excited to see where it takes me. I am not real big on change, but am willing to accept it to better my career.
We are planning a big vacation as well this year, just not sure exactly where we want to go. My husband should be home in late May, early June, so we have been talking about going on a cruise or possibly Atlantis or maybe even the mountains. I am leaning towards something beachy. We plan on taking our little man with us, so we want it to be something he will enjoy. I think the Disney Cruise would be best since he will be 8 years old when we go and will still be into the whole Disney thing. But the hubs wants to just fly to our destination and enjoy our time there. I guess it will all depend on what falls in our budget when the time comes. If anyone has any good suggestions on kid friendly vacays, feel free to share!
Another giant thing we have planned this year is renewing our vows! This will be our 5 year wedding anniversary and since we didn’t have a formal wedding when we got married, we decided to renew our vows at 5 years. I cannot wait to have my dad walk me down the isle and say “I do” again. I have been very blessed with a wonderful man and saying “I do” again will be just as amazing as the first time.
Looking forward, I am thinking 2014 is going to be an amazing year and will definitely top 2013 by far! Hopefully it works out that way for all of you as well.
