One of the things that we were invited to attend was a lu’au. They set up a section of the lu’au just for our large group and even went out of their way to give us a shout out during the show. The lu’au included several shows at different parts of the property, crafts, shopping, drinks and a buffet. We had a group of about 50 of us and they made themselves known for sure. But that usually happens when you have a bunch of military men with alcoholic beverages in their hands.
After a little shopping where we purchased a beautiful wood carved statue, lots of photos, watching the sunset and some crafts, they sent us over to eat and then started the show. There were so many amazing performances, I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage. It’s amazing the things that they do for these shows. Definitely worth watching. And the food… delicious! There was such a variety to choose from and everything I had was so good. Of course they had the pig that they cooked under ground, and even that was melt in your mouth delicious.
My favorite part of the whole night was the sunset. I decided to take a panoramic photo and it turned out amazing (excuse the man I have not edited out yet)! I always seem to have a photo or two that are my favorites from my vacations, and this was certainly my favorite. I cannot wait to blow it up and put it in my house along with all the other island photos I have taken from various vacations.
I can’t wait to attend another lu’au in the future. Maybe next time I will actually get up and learn to hula dance. Maybe, lol.
